Dr. Hildegardo Costa was born in London, UK and raised in Panama and Mexico. He received his medical degree from the University of Panama School of Medicine. He continued his training after he was accepted in the Pediatric Residency Program at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in New York. After successfully completing his 3 years of training in Pediatrics he was selected Chief Resident of the Pediatric Residency Program for an additional year. Dr. Costa also went on to complete a 3 year Fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at S.U.N.Y Downstate Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Costa has been in practice in McAllen since 2006 when he moved in with his wife, Dr. Daisy Arce, and their three beautiful daughters: Nicole, Gisselle and Daniella. In January 2020 a dream came true with the opening of a new and modern office: McAllen Children’s Clinic. Dr. Costa has made his mission to provide the best and most comprehensive care to his patients in a welcoming and supportive environment where we can build a strong relationship with patients and their families. Dr Costa has also selected a staff committed to excellence to provide patients and their families with a positive experience.
